There are many quotes I come across that are just worth keeping. You know what I mean – the inspirational, the thought-provoking, and the “worth repeating”. Sometimes these quotes come from the unexpected like my 6 year old and other times the statements come from someone you’d expect to have that sort of wisdom. Here are just a few that I like to think of as keepers:
- “Any time you can get up there and scare a few people, throw up some decent times, it builds up your confidence and also sends a message to other people.” Olympic silver medallist Marianne Limpert
- “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated” —- Mahatma Gandhi.
- “Go to every practice and every race with confidence that you can do your best. There is no excuse for doing less than that, so don’t fool yourself with an excuse. Race with passion and expect to succeed. And when you go for your goals, remember that it is a treat to have the chance to go for them.” — Chris Nelson, Head Coach, Silver Tide Swim Club
- “I think that everything is possible as long as you put your mind to it and you put the work and time into it. I think your mind really controls everything. “ — Michael Phelps, Olympic Gold Medalist
- “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” — Helen Keller
